With the early morning meetings and late night conference calls, the long work days at Orisue are always demanding. One thing that keeps us going (beyond being able to supply our consumers with fresh clothing) is continual cups of coffee. We always keep in the back of our minds the long standing effects of so much caffeine in our system – until now ….it seems like it could be in our benefit. A new study has found that coffee drinkers have a reduced risk of dying from prostate cancer.
Men who downed six or more cups a day were found to be 60 percent less likely to develop an aggressive form of the cancer and 20 percent less likely to get any form of the disease. Even consuming smaller amounts of coffee—one to three cups per day—was found to reduce the risk of deadly forms by 30 percent.
Researchers don’t recommend men picking up a coffee habit in hopes of preventing prostate cancer as the reason for the reduced risk has not yet been established. So this Sunday morning after waking up and pouring your first cup, keep in mind not only are waking yourself up, but keeping yourself healthy as well.
