This past weekend we followed Fashawn to his hometown of Fresno, CA. Fashawn hosted a show at the Tower Theater with Jean Grae and Talib Kweli to celebrate the release of his album, Boy Meets World (get your copy now!).
I’ve never been in Central California; I’ve only passed it up on the way to and from Frisco. Fresno has a great old town feel and it was great to see how many Orisue supporters out there! Especially the kid rocking the One Shot, One Kill Shirt, he came to the Fashawn show reppin’!
Jean Grae opened up. She definitely got the show going and had a real good vibe about her set.
Up next was the hometown hero. Fashawn runs Fresno, and it’s great to see him put it down for his city. I know Hecktik was not only Fash’s manager but also tour DJ, but damn I didn’t know Hecktik could rock the tables like that! He was definitely getting down on the wheels!
Talib closed out the show. He ran through his solo stuff and also Reflection Eternal and Black Star material.
The show was great and I wouldn’t mind coming back again, stay classy Fresno, CA!
