COACHELLA 2011 COVERAGE

As my first post on the blog, I have to set it off right. What better opportunity than sharing my weekend experience at Coachella 2011.

Headed up thursday night and arrived at midnight to a welcoming crowd of thousands of campers.

Of course I packed the bare essentials. If theres anything you need to bring to coachella besides water, its these three items.

One of my favorite performances during the afternoons was Wiz Khalifa. This professor was even grading his students’ papers while listening to some Kush and Orange Juice! I wish all my teachers were like this.

Any Aquabats performance is guaranteed good time. They even battled cavemen and dinosaurs all while performing. I think the last time I saw them 8 years ago they were battling some aliens.

Nas and Damian Marley really set the mood to go along with all the smoke in the air.

$7 for a Slushy so that you too, can be just like Charlie Sheen.

The internet’s humor and presence were definitely apparent.

Closing out night 2 was an incredible set by none other than the Grammy Award Album of the Year winners, Arcade Fire. Definitely one of the most talented bands out there today.

The last night was intense with the best of the best hitting all the different stages. The Strokes killed it on the main stage, and set the hype level through the roof. They had no problem putting on a grade A performance right before the official closing act by Kanye West.

Kanye West opened up strong by floating right above the crowd on a rotating platform. He took us through a timeline of his whole career. It was the perfect way to end a blurry weekend at Coachella 2011.
